Absolutely! We understand that it isn't always easy or convenient to come to a notary! Sometimes, it isn't even possible. That's why we come to you. We can meet you at your home, business, nursing home, hospital, or even at a coffee shop or park!
South Carolina Mobile Notary can notarize various types of documents, including affidavits, power of attorney, contracts, wills, and more.
Yes! South Carolina Mobile Notary is able to perform marriage ceremonies. You will need your marriage license, and valid government-issued photo ID cards for both parties.
Yes! However, scheduling can be extremely important in these cases. It is important that the person is awake so we can communicate with them and that they stay alert and aware for the duration of the appointment. One of our most important duties as notaries is to ensure that all parties are competent, aware, and understand the contents of the documents requiring notarization.
You will need to have a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport), the document to be notarized, and any other necessary paperwork or forms. Please note that, in order for a signature to be notarized, the person must physically appear before the notary at the time of the signature. Notarizations of signatures by those with Power of Attorney will be discussed in advance and will require legal verification of the Power of Attorney.
Documents for use in another state generally may be notarized in South Carolina as long as the notarization physically takes place within the borders of South Carolina.
The allowable fees for performing most notarial acts are regulated by the State of South Carolina. These are generally $5 per signature. Travel and other fees are in addition to the notarization fees. Specific fees for your situation will be agreed upon in advance of services being provided.
South Carolina notaries are not legally authorized to create documents, to help you understand them, or to provide legal advice of any kind.
A notary journal includes important details of the notarized documents and the circumstances in which they happen. In addition to providing helpful records of the official activities of the notary, this journal may potentially serve as proof of transaction in case authenticated documents go missing or this information is required for court proceedings. Notarial acts we complete will be recorded in a notary journal.
Notary Publics are bound to follow all applicable laws and codes of conduct. If we feel the notarization itself or the anything about the situation may not fall within these guidelines, we will have to regretfully decline to perform the notarization. This is for your protection and ours. If we travel and must decline to perform the notarization once we arrive onsite, there will be no charge for the notarization. However, travel and other fees will still apply.
